How We Are Different:
We are up to date and keep our pages dynamic: We have compiled the most up to date and comprehensive information on traveling to Utila and travel planning, including specifics on times, tips, and other handy specifics. You won’t find find flight schedules from 4 years ago, and if you find something incorrect, let us know- we will change it! By giving you current, up to date information, we hope to become your primary resource in travel planning for Utila. We look forward to building our other pages up to the same level of information.
We are biased! There, we said it. By biased we mean we will recommend those businesses that are working hard to be the best they can be- at whatever market and price level they are aiming for. If its a hostel, well, we don’t expect fine linen sheets, but come on, it should be clean and friendly. We feel we should reward those businesess who are working hard to do their best and thats why we will give some recommendations over others.
Natural History: We were in marine biology and marine education before coming to Utila and keep that connection to the ocean and and natural realm. So in that sense, we will be working to bring the focus of natural history, culture, education, and environmental awareness and sustainability into your travel planning and life on Utila. While we will try to avoid buzzwords like green-tourism or eco-tourism mostly because those phrases have been so grossly misused), we are aiming to bring you the same guiding principles and will expand upon that in our pages. If you want to get involved with that aspect of this website, let us know!
