Sandy Cay and Little Cay, off of Utila, are 2 private islands that are popular rentals for that true island experience. Each small cay has one house- and they make a truly ideal getaway for a few nights for friends and family.  Days are spend swimming in the shallow waters off the island or just lounging about on the nice sandy beaches. Great snorkeling too! Whats more, they are available for rental at very affordable prices (starting from $100 usd per night).

Both Cays get booked up in advance, so call well ahead of when you want to go. The managers, George and Barry  (contacts are below) are very low-key and easy going- don’t expect to be pampered during your stay, but if something goes wrong, they will be available to help with anything for sure and are really nice guys. They can also help you arrange fish dinners, cleaners, day trips on the water, etc.

Sandy Caye / Sandy Cay Rental Information~

Rate:
Sandy Cay is $100 usd per night up to 6 people, then $15 usd additional per person

Sleeps:
There are 2 bedrooms at Sandy Caye, each with 2 beds. Two couples are perfect because each couple has their own bedroom, but you certainly can accomadate up to 6 in the bedrooms, and they have some extra matresses and will allow up to 14 people.

Bring:
Bring in all food and drink for your stay. There is a full kitchen, so just bring anything you need to cook with. Don’t forget purified water. Linens and sheets and towels are all there.

Facilities:
Sandy Cay has electric supplied by solar, so it is limited.  There is running  water, but limited. Fans may be available, but there is not air-conditioning.

Logistics:
To get to Sandy Cay off of Utila,  you can arrange a boat ride with George or Barry for additional money, or any of the boat captains mentioned above. Sandy Cay is about 15-20 minutes from Pigeon Cay and about 45 minutes from Utila.

 Little Cay / Little Caye Rental Information~

Little Cay is $115 usd per night up to 6 people, then $15 usd additional per person up to 12 people.  

Sleeps:
There are 2 bedrooms in the main house, with an additional bedroom in the separate cabin. Three couples are perfect because each couple has their own bedroom, but you certainly can accommodate up to 12 people in the beds.

Bring:
There is a full kitchen, so just bring anything you need to cook with. Don’t forget purified water. Linens and sheets and towels are all there.

Little Cay has electric supplied by solar, so it is limited. There is running water, but limited. Fans may be available, but there is not air conditioning.
