 Vacation Rentals and Long Term Rentals- Is there a difference?
A “vacation rental” is generally a  nicer home or apartment on the water, fully equipped for the vacationer, offering some type of cooking facilities, private bathrooms, and deck space. Major appliances such as stoves, fridge, etc. are considered standard, as are smaller appliances like toasters, coffeemakers, as well as linens, towels, dishes, utensiles, and drinking water.  Electiricity is also generally included unless specified otherwise. (Sometimes there are pricing “specials”, but these may just be that electricity is not included!)  Cleaning is generally included once a week (and before and after your stay of course), unless you arrange otherwise.  If you rent a a vacation rental, you should really just have to bring your toothbrush and toiletries. Tax is generally additional.

A “long term rental” generally refers to a interior property, and geared more for longer stays (1 month and on), and are also generally much less expensive.  Basic kitchen facilities should exist (stove, fridge, etc), but smaller items such as coffee maker, etc may not be included. Electricity is generally not included for long term rentals, and in most cases, you may be expected to supply your own linens, towels, drinking water. Tax is generally included in the price.

Often these guidelines overalp, so be sure TO ASK to know what is included in the price and what you should plan to bring so you can help to ensure you have a great stay!  The owners of both businesses below are helpful and honest, and can answer all of your questions.
