Who’s Behind the Scenes:
I have been living on Utila year round for 6 years now, with my husband Brad. We first visited and purchased property on the island of Utila during a scouting trip about 10 years ago where we explored the coasts from Belize to Panama. When we landed on Utila, there was an instant connection and we knew this was a place we wanted to return.
Previous to moving to Utila, we lived in Hawai’i for about 8 years where Brad and I worked in marine biology and marine education.
We have been involved in multiple facets of Utila, starting with being a repeat visitor, moving here and getting to know the people and the island, buying a home, and owning and successfully running 3 on-island businesses (Bundu Cafe, Destination Utila Vacation Rentals, both now sold, and currently Utila Realty, 
an Utila real estate company).
I’ve also recently brought in some Stand up Paddleboards and do paddling and kayaking trips around the island and give island kids free introductions to the Stand up Paddleboards.
I set up UtilaGuide starting with commonly asked questions I got from vistors when I was with Destination Utila. Since its inception, UtilaGuide has blossomed to its current state. Whether its helping people in finding general information on Utila, Utila travel details, diving information, restaurants, hotels, lodging or services on the island, or just to encourage people to get out and explore and play on our soil or in the waters, I hope you find UtilaGuide.com a helpful resource.
